2012 HP Pavilion dv6-7000 (dv6t), dv7-7000 (dv7t) Revealed



The new Pavilion notebooks are made of aluminum and sport curved edges with chrome ascents, as well as soft-touch finish on some parts. HP gave a special treatment to the audio system on the laptops. The 4.1 Beats Aduio-branded speaker system consist of two speakers located above the keyboard, additional two built into the LCD bezel below the screen, and a subwoofer located on the bottom of the chassis. The isle keyboard will optionally have backlighting.

The 2012 Pavilion dv6 and dv7 include DVD burners or Blu-ray optical drives, 1.2MP webcams, and USB 3.0 technology.


Regarding internal components, the laptops will deliver Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, Italian website reports. But on the other side, it has been reported that the first available models will come with the current Sandy Bridge. CPU choices will include Core i5 and i7 chips, while for graphics there’s the 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT 630M. Maximal supported ram is 8GB. Besides the screen size, the main difference between the two models is storage. The dv6 will come with up to 1TB mechanical hard drive, while its larger sibling will ship with up to 2TB of HDD storage, thanks to dual drive bays.
